WordPress Plugin: Price Parser
Our client in India hired our company to develop a plugin for WordPress to parse prices from various Indian online stores.
The final plugin version includes: console parser that is run as a cron job, backend and frontend. The plugin has an open architecture that will allow to add new shop parsing plugins in addition to the existing ones. Price Parser provides information on product prices, availability, and delivery types. Our customer also requested to support fetching remote shops using proxy-servers that are automatically loaded from the e-mail address (where they are received by a daily proxy list subscription). The frontend content is generated by manual shortcode insertion or automatically appended to the product post (editor decides during creating a new product post). Our client also requested that for better user experience there would be a sorting feature in the price comparison table. In addition, site editor/administrator can put a product minimal price anywhere on the page using a shortcode (calculated as a minimal price among the parced ones). If the product has not yet been processed by the parser, the default minimal price is determined during the product post creation.
This plugin is closely connected with our other product for this customer: Product Comparison Plugin.
